We Have Welcomed Another Experienced Production Technician

A New Colleague with Solid Experience

Gert Thirup is 48 years old and joins from a position as an Industrial Technician at Søgrens Maskinfabrik in Dalmose. He trained as a machinist at Jan Bach Maskinfabrik in Skælskør and brings nearly 30 years of experience from his previous positions, including roles at HRS in Kalundborg and Aluline in Tølløse.

“My role at Engskov is to support quotation work in the sales department and to handle programming of the CNC machines and prepare them for the serial production runs we manufacture for our customers. This also includes optimizing machine processes, purchasing tooling, and designing and building new fixtures,” explains Gert Thirup.

Focus on Smarter Setups and Efficient Serial Production

And it is precisely the opportunity to design and set up Engskov’s CNC machines so that his colleagues can carry out their work even more smartly and efficiently that appeals to Gert Thirup:

“I have worked in the machining industry for many years and tried a bit of everything. For example, I have 15 years of experience setting up and producing on multitask machines such as the new OKUMA milling machine with associated robot, which we are currently having installed here at Engskov. I am looking forward to getting started and making use of its many possibilities together with my colleagues,” he says.

Furthermore, Gert Thirup feels very comfortable among his new colleagues.

“I love being challenged every day and improving my skills within the work we do for our customers. But it is also very nice that we have a positive working environment with good colleagues who are always ready to help you get settled,” he says.

Gert Thirup lives in Skælskør with his wife. The couple have no children, so there is plenty of free time to get involved in Skælskør Sailing Club. From there, Gert Thirup races as crew on another boat, while the family’s Maxi 909 is used extensively for weekend trips and holidays.
