New Sales Assistant Brings 30 Years of Purchasing Experience

Kit Rommel has just started her new role as Sales Assistant at Engskov Maskinfabrik.

She is, in a sense, moving to the other side of the table. Since qualifying as a business economist in the mid-1990s, she has worked as a purchaser in technical industrial companies.

From Purchasing to Sales – Same Collaboration, New Perspective

“I am simply so happy and grateful that Engskov Maskinfabrik is giving me the opportunity to use my skills and experience in a completely new way,” says Kit Rommel. A few weeks ago, she started her new role as Sales Assistant at Engskov Maskinfabrik.

Here, she will help with planning and coordination together with her colleagues in the sales department and production, the factory’s subcontractors, and the purchasers at the machine factory’s customers, so that customer orders are delivered and invoiced on time.

“It is truly wonderful to be able to use my knowledge and experience in a completely new way. And I hope that my many years on the other side of the table – as a purchaser – will benefit both Engskov and our customers,” she says.

Business Economist Specializing in Purchasing and Contract Management

Kit Rommel is trained as a business economist with a specialization in purchasing and contract management from Niels Brock. Since 1995, she has worked as a purchaser, most recently at Syntegon Technology and previously at Simatek A/S, National Oilwell Varco, Fors A/S, Statoil’s refinery and Nilpeter.

When she worked at Nilpeter, Engskov’s current Customer and Project Manager, Jan Daugaard, was her manager, and it is thanks to him that Kit Rommel is now also at Engskov Maskinfabrik:

“Jan had noticed that I was looking for new challenges and contacted me. I am truly very pleased about that,” she says.

“I already knew Jan, of course, but I also think it is going quite well getting to know my new colleagues. There is a good atmosphere here at Engskov, and everyone is very kind, cooperative and helpful,” she says.

Kit Rommel is 60 years old and lives in Høng, north of Slagelse, with her partner. The couple have adult children who have moved away from home. In her free time, Kit Rommel keeps fit with yoga and fitness – and she often has a jigsaw puzzle, a knitting project and a good book on the go.
